Kate Samuels
(Born 1981)

Hailing from Lubbock, Texas Kate Samuels received a BA Art History degree from the College of Santa Fe. Kate debuted her first body of work at POP Gallery October 2014 for POP FEMME Sugar Coated Strange. In this series Kate paints colorful and ethereal creatures immersed in the raw beauty of organically detailed flowers and abstract elements paired with the occasional skeletal detail. What emerges are strangely genuine and unique expressions of wild sacred animals like you've never seen them before. Her inspiration is forests and the animals within. The ability to hide in plain sight sometimes at a price.

Incredibly talented and well received by press and collectors worldwide, Kate's passion for art & nature comes through each piece with a unique voice garnering her place in the Santa Fe art scene. Kate lives in Albuquerque, NM and was recently selected by the Rio Grande Zoo for a future commission. She has collaborated with multiple artists on public art murals in Albuquerque and Texas.
